Gates of Muspel – Karmanjaka

Released last February 11th, 2022–via Grind to Death Records, is Karmanjaka and their 3rd full-length album: Gates of Muspel.

The album follows their latest EP Hugin released in 2021.

Gates of Muspel is an album that is between Melodeath and Progressive Death Metal, although it is Death Metal.

I need to consider the fact that Karmanjaka started as a one-man-band (which I always admire) in 2016 but evolved rapidly into five mate band soon after.

Cool and interesting album. Karmanjaka needs more attention.

Enjoy!

Siren Head – VORAATH

Self-released last November 8th, 2021, Voraath with Siren Head (Single) featuring Brad Parris (Nile) on vocals and guitar, Joshua Nassaru Ward (Xael, Rapheumets Well) on drums, vocals and keys, along with Paul McBride (Implosive Disgorgence, Sweet Blood) on bass, and guitarists Daniel Presnell and Tylor Kohl.

After hearing the MP3 song a couple of times, I watched the Siren Head” music clip directed by drummer Joshua Nassaru Ward.

But first, I hope you see the initial Siren Head little horror shorty which inpired Voraath to produce the single and music clip.

Enjoy!

The Dregs of Hades – Lock Up

Lock Up is back again with The Dregs of Hades – a really hot album that came out last November 26th, 2021.

I had really loved the previous release, Demonization, where we were cuddled with the sweet vocals of Kevin Sharp (Brutal Truth), a really nice touch to the great riffs of the album – and guess what? He is back on this delicious new release with (fanfares!) Thomas Lindberg (At The Gates) co-sharing the lyric’s with Kevin.

Add Shane Embury (Napalm Death), Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer) and not to mention Anton Reisenegger (Criminal); we have an All Star Death Metal Band !

Dig it & Enjoy!

Follow The Scars – DECEREBRATION

Old School Death Metal here with Cerebration from Quebec, Canada and their 3rd album and 1st since the 1990s, Follow the Scars, released December 17th, 2021.

The sound is familiar with Quebec Metal style and the album delivers.

Powerful, wise, melodic and creative.

Enjoy!

Slave to the Scalpel – 200 STAB WOUNDS

Released last November 12th of this holy (what???) 2021 is 200 Stab WoundsSlave to the Scalpel. From Ohio, USA, 200 Stab Wounds gives us a solid album that is in the trenches of Death Metal but with solid Heavy Metal riffs. It delivers! Enjoy!

The Everlasting Plague – Pathology

They are back! Pathology with a new album, The Everlasting Plague, a follow up of the solid Reborn to Kill which came out in 2019.

I’ve been listening to this gem all morning on repeat, and it’s a boner!

Take a listen to it!

‘Unholy Infestation’ by Desecrate the Faith – A Comment

desecrate-the-faith-unholy-infestation-5x5-300dpi

Out March 3rd 2017, was ‘Unholy Infestation‘ by Desecrate the Faith via Comatose Music.

A Texan death metal act with some angry music to share with us, be ready to revisit some old-school death metal à la Suffocation and Chris Barnes era Cannibal Corpse.

Very heavy but very reminiscent of good old days, Desecrate the Faith delivers totally with a powerful album of high quality death metal with a really good production.

Highly recommended, available on Bandcamp and Spotify.
